Three image types, three different jobs
Product research often mixes seller listing images, warehouse QC photos and buyer photos as if they prove the same thing. They do not. Seller images describe the advertised product; QC-labelled media is presented as showing an individual unit for inspection; buyer photos are presented as showing an item after delivery. Without reliable provenance, none of those labels independently proves who made the image or what happened outside the frame.

Every thumbnail in the USFans Sheet catalog is a seller listing image unless a page explicitly says otherwise. We do not relabel catalog photography as QC.
A practical QC checklist
- Confirm the variant. Check color, size, model and any option code against the order record.
- Request full-item views. Front, back, both sides and the sole or base reveal more than one dramatic close-up.
- Check measurements. A ruler or tape should be flat, readable and placed on the dimension that matters.
- Inspect functional details. Look at zippers, closures, straps, seams, eyelets, buttons and other high-stress areas.
- Ask about visible defects. Mark stains, damage, crooked components or missing pieces before international shipment.
Checks by product type
Shoes
Compare the pair together, outsole shape, toe shape, heel alignment, visible glue marks and the insole or outsole length. Read the shoe spreadsheet checklist before deciding on size.
Clothing
Prioritize chest or pit-to-pit width, body length, sleeve length, print position, embroidery and visible fabric flaws. Measurements are usually more useful than a letter-size label.
Bags and accessories
Check overall dimensions, strap configuration, closures, attachment points, hardware color and included pieces. For watches and jewelry, photos may show cosmetic details but cannot verify material or movement claims.
What QC photos still cannot answer
Photos do not reliably establish material composition, internal construction, smell, comfort, durability or legal authenticity. Lighting and camera processing can also change color. When a claim matters, look for written specifications, measurements and an appropriate independent verification method instead of stretching a photo beyond what it shows.
